Work has been crazy busy-stressful lately. Like to the point where I'm very, physically in pain from my neck and jaw. I wake up with these crazy headaches (which, I know are work related, on the nights and days off - no headache. On the eve of a work day/morning of, headache)
So in that crazy madness of trying to release some tension, I have been thinking a lot lately of some ideas I think could work for a story. The genre is sci-fi mystery. But nothing too over the top that a novice couldn't read.
It's really helping! I've been focusing a lot on that and my tension and headaches aren't as bad as they have been. (Plus, I've purposefully scaled back at work.) I'm not going to work myself to death -they'd just replace me anyway. So if they want to be toxic right now, so be it. I'm going to do what I can and keep my nose clean.
With my book - I'm a solid 2 chapters written. I'm not sure yet how or when I'll finish. I'm currently wanting to give a bit of background without giving away the whole story in 1 sentence. So the trick at the moment is to keep the readers engaged and not getting bored, but at the same time, wanting to have this story continue.
I'm having trouble getting that balance and I'm a bit on a mental block on how I want to take it. I know what the story is, and how it's going to end. What I don't know is the bits and bobs in-between. I keep plugging away - goal right now is to just continue writing it. It's still a rough draft and will likely get many revisions so that's ok. Plus it keeps me busy!
